The Local Urban Plan of the commune of La Teste-de-Buch has been in force since 2016

The preserved landscapes, such as the forest of La Teste, the reserved sites and the study perimeters are zones defined and regulated by the Local Urban Plan of the commune, with determined constraints to be followed by any real estate project.

A tourist area developed since the 19th century with the arrival of the rail ways in the commune, La Teste-de-Buch attracts sea-bathing enthusiasts to its Arcachon district, which was made a commune by imperial decree. The perimeters around the Hôtel de Baleste, the Villa Téthys and the Villa Geneste, which date from the 19th to 20th centuries, are protected and any real estate project within these perimeters will be subject to the approval of the architect of Bâtiments de France.
