The PLU of Menton was recently modified

The Local Urban Plan (PLU) of Menton was approved in 2018. Since then, it has only beenmodified once, in 2019. A second modification is under consideration.

Menton is a commune located on the French-Italian border, 11 kilometres from the Italian town of Ventimiglia, about ten kilometres from Menton and 30 kilometres from Nice. Known as the " Pearl of France", Mention is a renowned seaside resort, whose Baie du Soleil, which opens onto the Mediterranean Sea, attracts many tourists every year.

In the city centre, between the Menton train station and the coast, the authorised construction heights are 22 metres (R+6). The ground surface area is limited to 70%.

The entire Promenade du Soleil along the coast of Menton is reserved by the city. Numerous roads leading from the town centre up to the heights of the town are also reserved. Along the Avenue de Sospel and the Route du Val de Gorbio, certain sectors are reserved for the creation of social housing.

Menton has a right of pre-emption over half of the territory, from the coast to the residential area of Cabrolles mainly.

The city has authorised 8 collective building permits for the construction of 500 dwellings.
