There are many real estate projects in Chartres, located in zone B1 of the Pinel law

The city of Chartres benefits from the Pinel tax exemption scheme (zone B1). Property prices reach €4,000 per square metre near the city centre and fall to €3,500 per square metre in the more remote areas.

Some fifteen property developments are currently being marketed in Chartres. The municipality has authorised 20 individual and collective building permits, mainly in the centre and west of the territory.

The former Beaulieu district, now Quartier des Clos, is a priority district with a reduced VAT rate of 5.5%. Numerous demolitions of social housing have taken place and will now give way to the reconstruction of new housing.

The soils of Chartres are of archaeological interest and will be cleaned up

The only underground quarry in Chartres is located along the rue Gabriel Loire.

The town has 300 polluted or potentially polluted sites grouped together in the town centre and its nearby districts as well as in the east of the town between Rue Edmond Poillot and the D910 departmental road and along the D7154 departmental road.

Theentire area of the commune of Chartres is located in a zone of presumed archaeological interest. Consultation with the Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles (DRAC) before the launch of a property project in Chartres will be almost systematically compulsory. Some sectors at the northern, eastern and southern ends of the commune will only require the transmission of a property project to the DRAC if it covers a plot area of more than 1,000 m².
