The Local Urban Plan of the commune of Vitrolles is in force since 2017

The Local Urban Plan of the commune of Vitrolles is currently being modified and will be updated at the end of 2019.

The commune of Vitrolles is one of 36 communes in the Pays d'Aix territory, which is currently drawing up an inter-communal Local Urban Plan, scheduled for the beginning of 2021.

Loïc Gachon, mayor of Vitrolles, is surrounded by Pascale Morbelli, deputy mayor in charge of urban planning and development.

The commune has defined two Planning and Development Orientation (OAP) zones: the Cap Horizon OAP around the Vitrolles Aéroport Marseille Provence train station and the Salins OAP near the Salins du Lion.

Architectural constraints, such as the landscapes to be preserved or the setback, which concerns all the land in the commune of Vitrolles bordering the Etang de Berre, are regulated for each zone defined in the Local Urban Plan.

Vitrolles: a historic city with opportunities for property developers

This Bouches-du-Rhône municipality, which welcomed 18 new property developments in 2018, authorised 2 building permits in the same year for collective housing, corresponding to 24 new homes, located near the Griffon park and on Avenue Jean Moulin.

The Arbois plateau and the Cigalière park in Vitrolles are listed sites. In the urban sector, the perimeter around the Saracen Tower, which dates from the 11th century, is protected and any real estate project within it will be subject to the opinion of the Architectes des Bâtiments de France.
