Sainte-Maxime (83)

The Local Urban Plan of the commune of Sainte-Maxime has been in force since 2018

The last modification of the Local Urban Plan (PLU) of Sainte-Maxime is in force since the end of 2018, and a revision of the PLU is planned for 2020.

Jean-Maurice Zorzi, deputy mayor of Sainte-Maxime, Vincent Morisse, is in charge of town planning.

Architectural constraints, such as setbacks and landscapes to be preserved, are determined in the regulations of the different zones defined by the Local Urban Plan of Sainte-Maxime.

Surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and by vast natural and agricultural areas, which allow the production of AOC Provence wines and olive oil, the commune of Sainte-Maxime has become urbanised along the sea. The UC and UD zones, which are residential in character, are able to accommodate housing projects. The UD zone, which corresponds to the second periphery of the town centre, covers half of the plots of land in Sainte-Maxime.

Sainte-Maxime: a historic tourist town that attracts real estate projects

This commune of the Var is hosting 13 new real estate programmes, mainly in its centre, on the seafront and in the La Baumette districts in 2018, and is authorising a building permit for individual housing in the Couloubrier district.

Anactive port since the Middle Ages, the tourist town of Sainte-Maxime has defined two protected areas around the Tour Carrée, built in the 16th century, and around the Villa Bellevue, which dates from the beginning of the 20th century. Any real estate project in these areas will be subject to the approval of the Architectes des Bâtiments de France.
