The Local Urban Plan of the commune of Thonon-les-Bains has been in force since 2016

One in twelve plots of land in the commune of Thonon-les-Bains is protected and includes the historic centre as well as historic hamlets such as the hamlet of Concise, where the Chapel of Concise is nestled. Land development opportunities forcollective housing are found in the UB, UC, UD and UE zones, i.e. half of the commune's land . One parcel in five is in the UF zone, which corresponds to housing estates.

The spa town of Thonon-les-Bains is home to many real estate projects

This Haute-Savoie municipality is authorising 16 building permits for individual and collective housing in 2018. They are mainly located in the centre of Thonon-les-Bains, on the route de Tully, on the avenue de Genève and near the Ripaille park.

Aspa town since Antiquity, the area of the commune of Thonon-les-Bains from the Hôtel-Dieu, the former convent of the Minimes, to the park of Ripaille near the castle of the same name, is protected by the historical monuments that it shelters. These include the châteaux of Rive and Guillet-Monthoux, the tower and chapel of Saint-Bon and the church of Saint-Hippolyte. Any real estate project in this area, as well as in the perimeter surrounding the castle of Marclaz, will be subject to the approval of the Architectes des Bâtiments de France.
