Thionville modifies its PLU once every 18 months

The commune of Thionville adopted a Local Urban Plan (PLU) in 2013. It has already undergone 4 modifications, the last one in 2018. At the beginning of 2020, a revision of the PLU is underway.

Thionville is a city ideally located on the border with Luxembourg, whose population has been growing rapidly for the past 10 years.

The maximum authorised heights are 26 metres, i.e. R+7, all around the city centre of Thionville, which benefits from an unregulated ground surface area.

The mayor of Thionville, Mr Pierre CUNY, is surrounded by Mr Roger SCHREIBER, deputy town planning officer

In the west of the city, around the Guentrange district, there are many social mix zones where 20% of the floor area of any real estate project must be devoted to subsidised housing. This is also the case near the city centre in the Saint-Pierre and Beauregard districts .

Almost all of the city's Zones d'Aménagement Concerté are located in the west of the municipality. They are intended for business activities, and it will be possible to build offices, shops and premises for craftsmen.

The municipality has defined sites reserved for the creation of green spaces, car parks and the extension of the Bel-Air Hospital.

The city has authorised about twenty building permits spread throughout its territory. They mainly concern the construction of collective housing.
