The PLU of Saint-Égrève was replaced by a PLUi in early 2020

The Local Urban Plan (PLU) of Saint-Égèrève has been replaced by the Intercommunal Local Urban Plan (PLUi) of Grenoble-Alpes-Métropole, which was approved at the end of 2019 and came into force at the beginning of 2020.

Saint-Égrève is located to the north-west of Grenoble, between the mountains of the Massif de la Chatreuse and the river Isère. It is served by the A48 motorway, the RN 75 national road and the Saint-Égrève-Saint-Robert railway station. Once a fairly modest town in the Isère department, its population has increased over the last 50 years. A town in bloom, the commune has also been awarded the " Ville Internet" label.

Around the city centre, building heights of up to 16.50 metres (i.e. R+4) are permitted and the land area is limited to 70%.

The Mayor of Saint-Égrève is Mr Daniel BOISSET

The social housing rate in the city is 15%.

The municipality of Saint-Égrève has a number of reserved sites along the A48 motorway and in the Gare district.

The municipality has authorised a number of building permits , mainly for collective housing, which will create a total of 160 dwellings , including about ten individual dwellings.
