The Evian-les-Bains PLU plans to build 250 homes per year

The Local Urban Plan (PLU) of Evian-les-Bains is less than 3 years old and was simplified in 2019. It provides for the creation of 3,000 homes by 2030.

Commonly known as Evian and famous for its mineral water of the same name, the town of Evian-les-Bains is located on the shores of Lake Geneva, shared by France and Switzerland. On the other side of the lake is the city of Lausanne in Switzerland, which can be reached in 35 minutes by ferry.

The shores of the lake are located in a Natural Zone, where construction is extremely regulated. By moving slightly away from the shore, at the level of Rue du Port and Rue du Casino, the construction of housing with a height of 18 metres, i.e. R+5, becomes authorised. The ground surface area is not regulated.

The number of inhabitants is increasing by 2% per year in Evian-les-Bains.

The town has reserved a few spaces around the Evian train station, the coastline, notably between the Plage des Mouettes and the Plage de Grande Rive, and in the town centre around the Rue Nationale. In the Hauteurs d'Evian district, there are even more reserved parking spaces.

The municipality has authorised some fifteen building permits for the construction of 200 collective dwellings.
