The commune of Bourgoin-Jallieu has recently modified its PLU

The Bourgoin-Jallieu Local Urban Plan (PLU) was revised in 2014 and then modified in 2016. A second, simplified modification was applied at the beginning of 2020.

Bourgoin-Jallieu developed in the industrial era thanks to its textile activities. The town is served by two motorways, the A43, which provides access to Lyon and Chambéry, and the A48, which provides access to Grenoble. The Bourgoin-Jallieu train station also serves these cities. Bourgoin-Jallieu is also known for its rugby club, a member of the Top 14 until 2011.

In the city centre, it is possible to build dwellings up to 17 metres high (i.e. R+4). The permitted floor area varies between 80% and 100%.

The municipality has authorised 16 building permits , mainly for collective housing, which will create a total of 250 dwellings , including about ten individual dwellings.
