The Local Urban Plan of Agen is in force since 2017

Jean Dionis du Séjour, mayor of Agen, is surrounded by Clémence Brandolin-Robert, deputy for urban development and Jean Pinasseau, deputy for urban planning.

Half of the plots in the commune of Agen are in central areas and suburbs, covered by the UA zone of the Local Urban Plan. 35% of the plots are in the UB zone, which covers the pericentral urban areas of various continuous or discontinuous built-up areas.

The two-thousand-year-old city of Agen is home to several real estate projects

7 building permits were authorised in 2018 for this commune in the Lot-et-Garonne. They concern collective and individual housing and are located in the town centre and on Avenue Michelet.

Established on the Gallic oppidum of the Nitiobroges, the city centre of Agen is home to numerous vestiges that retrace its history, such as the Gallo-Roman amphitheatre, the Saint-Caprais cathedral and the Agen Museum of Fine Arts, housed in four Renaissance townhouses. From the Agen canal bridge over the Garonne to the former Royal Canvas Factory, now the Valence barracks, and the Jean Jaurès and Les Pins districts, the area is protected and any real estate project undertaken on these sites must be submitted for approval to the Architectes des Bâtiments de France.
