Arcachon: a historic tourist resort that attracts land developers

The commune of Arcachon, subject to the B1 scheme of the Pinel law, has a strong real estate potential.

20 new property developments are being marketed in 2018 in Arcachon, mainly in the town centre.

Prices for new properties in Arcachon reach 8200€ per square metre for a three-room apartment in the town centre.

In 2018, this Gironde municipality authorised 10 building permits for individual and collective housing, located in the city centre, near the Ville d'Hiver district and in the Aiguillon district.

A former district of La Teste-de-Buch, Arcachon was established as a commune in the 19th century by imperial decree. Archaeological excavations on the dunes of the region, notably the Dune du Pilat, testify to a human presence since the Iron Age and to salt production. The land closest to the beaches of the Arcachon basin is therefore in a zone of presumed archaeological prescription and requires a preventive archaeological diagnosis.
