Nantes' PLUM (Plan Local d'Urbanisme Métropolitain), which will be approved on 19 April 2019, opens up 4,900 plots of land for construction, i.e. 971 land units, in the communes of Nantes, La-Chapelle-sur-Loire, Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire, Rezé, Saint Herblain, etc.

50 hectares open in four other municipalities of the Metropolis

All the communes of the Metropolis are affected by this new PLUM These are: Carquefou with 24 hectares available for housing construction, mainly around the golf course; Saint-Herblain and Basse-Goulaine each with 9 hectares available for construction; and Orvault with 8 hectares available for housing construction.

With this new PLU, the Metropolis aims to build 6,000 homes per year in its municipalities. Among the desired criteria: less energy consumption, respect for the green and blue webs, preservation of half of the agricultural land by 2030 and control of social cohesion with an average of 30% social mix.
